AI Generative Skills & Employability Skills - Croydon
Ad Astra UK is running a rolling programme in Croydon to help young people build the skills, confidence and connections they need for work. Each cohort runs for six weeks, with new groups starting throughout 2025 and 2026.
Who it is for
- Young people aged 16 to
- Those not in education, work or training
- Anyone curious about AI and how it can help with jobs and study
What you will gain
- Hands-on experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Canva and Copilot
- A professional CV and tailored job application support
- Interview practice and mentoring
- Digital confidence to apply skills in real life
- Links to employers and local partners in Croydon
Why this matters
Croydon has one of the youngest populations in London. Yet too many young people are out of work or education and struggling with low confidence. Employers are asking for digital and AI skills that many feel locked out of.
This programme helps close that gap. It gives young people both the technical skills and the personal support they need to succeed.
Impact
- 60 young people supported across rolling cohorts
- Stronger CVs, improved interview readiness, higher confidence
- Increased employability and digital inclusion in Croydon
- Community connections built through local partners and mentors
The bigger picture
This project is based on feedback from more than 50 young people in Croydon. They asked for practical tools, mentoring and real chances, not more theory. That is what we are delivering. With support, this model can expand across London.
